Presentation

Visitors can explore the relics of the past, from the Middle Ages to the present day. Discover the Château’s unique natural ageing conditions and taste the different Cognacs in the dry and humid low-vaulted cellars. Accompanied by a tour ambassador, follow in the footsteps of the cellarmaster and explore the Renaissance rooms and the King’s apartments*, which are usually closed to the public. The visit includes a tasting of three Cognac qualities: VSOP, XO and the EXTRA BARON OTARD that will be extracted from the barrel before your very eyes!

*Subject to availability of the King’s apartments.

On the agenda

Château de Cognac, a former royal residence and the birthplace of King Francis I, holds the distinction of being a listed historic monument. Nowadays, it is home to the Cognac house Baron Otard & D’Ussé. A testimony to the history of France, the Château is truly worth a visit.
